Traveling with horses? Looking for a place to stop and rest along your journey? Or maybe you just want to spend the night at a working ranch in Eastern North Carolina.

Cavvietta Quarter Horse & Cattle Co. offers overnight lodging, horse layover boarding, cabins, camping, and limited RV hookups in Elm City, NC. We're conveniently located near the I-95 corridor, making us a great stop for travelers hauling horses through North Carolina.

Whether you're headed to a horse show, relocating a horse, traveling south for the winter, or simply breaking up a long haul, you and your horses can rest here at the ranch.

Overnight Lodging

We currently offer several options for guests staying at the ranch:

Wake up to a beautiful Eastern North Carolina sunrise over the cow pasture and enjoy the experience of staying on a working ranch.

The Bunkhouse

Our Bunkhouse sleeps up to six guests and is a comfortable option for families, groups, and travelers with horses. The top bunks of the bunkbeds in the bunk beds have a 160 lbs weight limit, but are ideal for children. Please note that these beds may make squeaking noises when guests move around on the bunks.

The Cabin

Our Cabin sleeps up to two guests and offers a cozy place to relax while staying on the ranch.

Dry Cabins

Our dry cabins sleep up to two guests and offer a place to lay your head. The dry cabins offer heat/ac, mini fridge, and coffee bar, but do not have their own private bathrooms. Guests staying in Dry Cabins have a full bathroom available in the Lodge (right next door).

The Camper

Our camper, affectionately named "Torkey" is available to book via airbnb. Torkey is available for parties of 6+ at all times, or to parties of fewer than 6 if the bunkhouse or cabin are already booked. The camper includes heat/ac, a full bathroom, a half bathroom, and two private rooms.

Horse Hotel & Equine Layover

We also offer layover boarding for horses traveling through the area.

If you need a horse layover near I-95, an overnight horse stop in North Carolina, or simply a place for your horse to rest during a long trip, contact us to reserve a stall.

Camping & RV Options

Dry RV & Tent Camping

We offer dry RV and tent camping for a small nightly fee.

Camping reservations can be made through Hipcamp.

Limited camper hookups may be available. Availability varies, so please contact Gracie before booking if you need electric or other hookup accommodations.

Horse Trailer Lodging

Our newer Horse Trailer with Living Quarters is available for booking through Hipcamp.

We also have an older horse trailer available through private booking only when our Cabin, Bunkhouse, and newer Living Quarters trailer are already booked.

The older trailer is not fancy, but it is a clean, dry place to stay with heat, AC, and a full bathroom. It includes a hot-water shower, toilet, sink, closet space, linens, and towels.

The couch converts into a small bed. The trailer can accommodate 3–4 guests, although the sleeping arrangement is best suited for smaller children and/or adults comfortable with the available space.

Please note that the older trailer is a rustic accommodation. Guests staying more than two nights may need to use the nearby portable restroom to help conserve the trailer's black tank. Kitchen appliances in the older trailer are not available for guest use.

The water heater operates on propane, so propane must be turned on several minutes before hot water is needed. A space heater is provided during the winter months. Please note, as this trailer is older, that there is some floor damage that should not affect your stay.

Important: Lofted Bed

The bed in the older horse trailer is lofted at a considerable height with limited step-up assistance. This accommodation is best suited for guests who are comfortable climbing into a high bed and moving around a compact space.

Conveniently Located

One of the best parts about staying at Cavvietta is the convenience.

A Dollar General Market is located in the adjoining lot, making it easy to pick up groceries, toiletries, snacks, drinks, and other necessities without having to make a separate trip into town.
