About the Event

Introduction to Western Dressage

Have you been hearing about Western Dressage?

Wondering what all the excitement is all about?

Join us for a day of Western Dressage to learn the basics you need to know to help get you started in the arena!

We will start by developing an understanding the goals and biomechanics of Western Dressage. Review of showing procedures, gaits, tack and attire, basic rules, and strategies for learning a test. You will learn about the different organizations and many ways to show.

Then we will move to working in the saddle by practicing some of the gaits, transitions and elements needed to ride a Western Dressage test well. We will top off our day by having each person practice riding a current test. (WDDA 2022 - Introductory Test 2)
