We are excited to be hosting the overnight Adult Only Cavvietta Ranch Academy! This is an educational weekend getaway for participants 18 years of age and older.

Participants should come ready to pitch a tent, hungry for cowboy grub, and with a desire to learn more about working cattle horseback. Participants must be comfortable walking, jogging, loping, stopping, and backing their horse.  Weather permitting, we will ride Friday evening after camp is set, Saturday morning and evening, and Sunday Morning. Ranch Academy will be rain or shine so participants should pack raincoats/slickers in case of rain. During this Ranch Academy, we will spend time working cattle, getting the basics (or advancing your knowledge) of rope handling, and touching on other ranch subjects that participants would like to learn about. Three meals per day plus snacks will be provided, but participants must bring their own container for water! While we aren’t riding and working on ranch skills, there will be opportunities to take a dip in the pond, or pull out a fishing rod to see if you can get some bites. Feel free to bring your musical instruments, cards, or other items for evening activities.

Horse, grain, hay and tack if you have your own safe horse

Please DO NOT send your child with shorts and tee shirts as they are not appropriate for ranch work

At Cavvietta Quarter Horse & Cattle Company, we promise to give the best east coast ranch experience you could imagine. From an early-morning wake-up to feed the cavvy and eat breakfast over the fire, to putting in hours on the ranch and learning our way of life, to an afternoon in the saddle learning new and exciting skills with your equine partner, and finishing up with a finish pole. And don’t forget lunch and dinner back at the camp!

Individuals who have their own mounts are encouraged to bring them in order to strengthen their partnership through better communication, but we are happy to provide a horse from our cavvy!
